Successful candidate must live within 30 miles of Spearfish.

This Enforcement Agent position is designated as a Class B member by the South Dakota Retirement System (SDRS).

Licenses and Certifications:

Successful candidate must possess a South Dakota Law Enforcement Certification or have the ability to obtain it within 1 year.

• resolve gaming disputes
• inspect gaming devices
• monitor casino for violations
• resolve citizens complaints and
• investigate violations of state statute.

Ability to:

• understand and interpret state law, rules, and regulations as they apply to gaming activities
• communicate clearly and concisely
• gather, organize, and present information effectively and in a logical sequence
• establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, other agencies, and the public
• work weekends and non-standard work hours in a rotating schedule
• meet deadlines, think critically, and solve problems and
• become South Dakota Law Enforcement certified within the first year of employment.

This position is exempt from the Civil Service Act.

This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
