The essential job responsibilities of the Inspector are to investigate theft of equipment and diversion of utility services disconnect pull meters if needed gather information and prepare reports.
Qualifications

Qualification Requirements:

To perform the Inspector role, you must:

  • Have a High School Diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D.)
  • Have demonstrated experience in electric, gas and water facilities or knowledge/experience in utility meters and installation methods
  • Submit to a thorough background investigation and obtain a Shelby County Special Deputy Commission
  • Have a valid drivers license from state of residence

Physical Working Conditions:

Works inside and outside under all conditions. Subject to 24-hour call and varying work schedules. Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis and some dexterity in operating office equipment. The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing and speaking abilities.
