The essential job responsibilities of the Drug Alcohol Compliance Associate will report to the Manager. The Drug and Alcohol Compliance will oversee MLGW drug and alcohol testing activities defined by The Federal Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing program of FMCSA and PHMSA. Plan and administer random alcohol and drug testing activities for collective bargaining and non-bargaining employees covered as part of the MLGW Drug Free Workplace Program. Establishes schedules and methods for providing random drug and alcohol testing services. Confirm drug testing results ensures proper notification to the DER. Exercise considerable independent judgement, sensitivity, tact, maintains confidentiality and exhibits strong working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements in carry out duties and responsibilities related to administration of the MLGW Substance Abuse Program. Responsible for the administration of processes required to ensure MLGW drivers are operating in accordance with DOT regulation at state and federal level. Maintains records/file reports and develops reports for drug and alcohol testing. Travel to various MLGW worksites to ensure compliance during testing of DOT regulated random drug testing. Required to be on call after hours to respond to incidents that may require an investigation. Required to be on call after hours to respond to incidents that may require an investigation. Required to have a flexible schedule to work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to communicate effectively with Human Resources due to the confidentiality of drug test results. Perform other duties as directed.


Qualifications


Qualification Requirements:

To perform the Drug and Alcohol Compliance Associate role, you must:

  • Associate Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or related field with six (6) years of experience in Drug and Alcohol Testing. Or High School Diploma with eight (8) years of experience of experience in Drug and Alcohol Testing. -Must have organizational ability to plan, formulate and execute policies and program. -Must be able to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels. -Must have a valid drivers license from state of residence. Physical Working Conditions:

Works in office majority of the time. Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular basis and some dexterity in operating office equipment.
