What is the position? This position works as an integral member of the Banking and Financial Institutions Division’s examination team to evaluate financial institutions for safety and soundness.

Examiners are responsible for gathering and analyzing financial institution data to:

  • Assess their financial and operational condition.
  • Assess their adherence with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Inform, support, and develop recommendations and conclusions using technical writing.

What qualifications are we looking for?

Education and/or Experience:

  • Prior bank and/or credit union examination experience required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, banking, finance, accounting or a related field.

Competencies:

Knowledge of:

  • State and federal rules and regulations relating to banking, business administration, accounting, auditing, and management information systems.
  • Examination specific computer software programs including Examination Tool Suite (ETS), Examination Modules, and the Automated Loan Examination Review Tool.

Ability to:

  • Evaluate work performed by other examiners.
  • Analyze data and trends.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Research and problem solve.
  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Train and assess the capabilities of other examiners.
