Duties Summary

The Visitor Information Program Assistant III plans, assigns and reviews the work of lower level Visitor Information Program Assistants conducts on-the-job training of subordinates resolves operational problems prepares and compiles operational reports receives and resolves complaints evaluates the work performance of subordinates recommends approval or disapproval of requests for leaves of absence prepares requisitions for supplies and other items maintains daily log of all operational activities at airport and participates in special greeting assignments and conducts airport tours as required.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

Basic Experience: Applicants must possess experience which demonstrated the ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions, and a high degree of verbal skill. This requirement may also be met with the possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.

General Experience: Two (2) years of work experience which demonstrated positive evidence that applicants possess patience, tact, and an even temper in meeting and dealing with others.

Supervisory Experience: Applicants for the Visitor Information Program Assistant III must possess supervisory aptitude. Supervisory aptitude is the demonstration of aptitude or potential for performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects of supervision.

Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the complete Minimum Qualification Requirements will apply.

Drivers License: Applicants must possess a valid drivers license to drive in the State of Hawaii at the time of appointment.

Federal Criminal History Records Check: In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found not guilty by reason of insanity, of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years.
