  • This vacancy is a support office position located at the Salt Lake, Moanalua Public Library.

Salary: $4,199 to $5,308 per month (SR-17, Step C to I)

Duties Summary

The Library Development Services Section administers and initiates, coordinates, evaluates, promotes statewide programs, promotions, printing, communications, monitors grants while creating sustainable relationships with government, corporate, nonprofit partners and supports and participates in literacy projects,

This position performs expert level Illustrator-Photographer designing and preparing artistic renderings and for taking pictures and processing films primarily for use in illustrating the presentation of educational material through various media to health, welfare, educational personnel, students and/or to the general public.

Applicants must possess a deep knowledge and portfolio with examples of professional graphic projects highlighting the principles and techniques of graphic design: color, typography, imagery, space, shape, line, form and texture.

Legal Authorization to work:

The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Experience:
THREE (3) YEARS of artistic illustrative work that demonstrated the ability to design, layout, and illustrate art work in a variety of different styles, techniques, and media. ONE (1) YEAR of this must have included or have been supplemented by photographic and processing work.

Non-Qualifying Experience: Drafting experience which did not involve free hand drawing or other artistic skills will not be considered qualifying.

Additional Selective Certification Qualification: One (1) year of work experience that demonstrated the knowledge of the techniques, materials and equipment used in graphic design, desktop publishing, digital photography and video presentation and standard computer graphic software such as Adobe Creative Cloud or CorelDRAW.

Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements will apply.

License: Applicants must possess a valid drivers license at the time of appointment.
