The Sheriffs Department has a vacancy for a Sheriffs Property Investigator. This position is responsible for performing field and office investigations of alleged mentally ill patients taken into custody. You will safeguard and preserve personal property and confiscate firearms along with using your investigative skills to locate relatives, guardians or conservators of these patients.

Education and/or Experience
1. Eighteen (18) months of investigative field experience which includes conducting interviews with the public, collecting and verifying information OR,
2. An associates degree from an accredited U.S. college, or a certified foreign studies equivalency or equivalent course work in behavioral or social science, criminal justice, evidence technology or a related area, AND twelve (12) months of investigative field experience which includes conducting interviews with the public, collecting and verifying information.

Evaluation
The names of qualified applicants will be placed on a six (6 ) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment and supplemental application.
