Administrative Assistant – This position requires a cover letter &amp resume.

As an Administrative Assistant at Development Homes, Inc., you are the warm and welcoming face, serving as the first point of contact for our organization, ensuring that everyone who walks through our doors is met with over-the-top customer service! Your daily routine may vary, from ensuring a presentable and organized workspace to answering the telephone, directing calls, managing data entry, filing, scheduling, coordinating meetings, ordering and dispersing supplies, coordinating incoming and outgoing mail, and working on other special projects. You will also be entrusted with handling confidential and sensitive information. As a representative of DHI, it is important to uphold a polite and professional tone when communicating with a diverse group of people, including external callers, visitors, and all levels of DHI’s business office and direct care staff. Your professionalism and respect for everyone will set the tone for the organization, guaranteeing everyone feels valued and appreciated.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact at Development Homes, providing positive customer service.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support.
  • Assist in the development and production of various publications, including Employee Newsletter, External newsletters, Pamphlets and Brochures, and Grant or funding request materials.
  • Project a positive image of Development Homes, Inc. both at work and in the community.
  • Handle all incoming and outgoing mail, including opening and closing the office building, while maintaining a neat, pleasant, and secure work environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a one-year certificate in accounting or have an equivalent of experience and education.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must be able to type between 40-60 words per minute.
  • While experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred, it is not required as long as you are a compassionate and patient person.

Additional Requirements:

  • Availability to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Position requires successful completion of criminal background, child abuse and neglect check, credit check, and a pre-employment drug test to be eligible for employment.
  • Current and valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and insurable driving record following company guidelines.

Compensation and Benefits:

Administrative Assistant: $22.59/hr.
