The successful candidate will design, implement, and maintain the audit program supervise the audit staff prepare and review all statistical reports related to revenue collection and distribution made by the SDCG and review and keep established internal control procedures up to date. Some travel is required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent prior work experience is required.

Experience working in collaborative team environments and demonstrating effective time management, organizational skills with attention to detail. Equally important will be a strong work ethic, integrity, interpersonal skills, discretion, confidentiality, and a positive attitude.

Knowledge of:

  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
  • the gaming industry and
  • effective communication and supervisor skills.

Skill to:

  • analyze gathered information, prepare detailed reports, and present information
  • use computer and software associated with position
  • organizational and time management skills
  • effective interpersonal skills and
  • provide professional customer service.

Ability to:

  • understand and interpret state law, rules, and regulations as they apply to gaming activities
  • communicate clearly and concisely
  • gather, organize, and analyze financial data, then prepare information effectively and in a logical sequence
  • establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, licensees other agencies, and the public
  • prioritize work load to meet deadlines, think critically, analyze data, and make determinations from that data and solve problems and
  • work independently and in a team setting when needed.

This position is exempt from the Civil Service Act.
This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
