Job Description : The Ohio State University College of Dentistry Outpatient Care Upper Arlington Dental Clinic seeks an administrative associate at its Upper Arlington ambulatory facility.

This position functions as an integral member of a team of care providers in the Upper Arlington Dental clinic to provide patient focused customer service and clerical support. Responsible for scheduling appointments with patients, taking incoming patient and doctor calls, coordination of check out process and accuracy of coordinated care. Facilitate dissemination of information to care team as appropriate. Responsible for daily cash handling procedures including balancing cash and preparing deposits. In charge of insurance verification, and collection of co-pays. Will also perform medical/dental coding, billing medical/dental carriers, appeals claims, collection functions serves as liaison between doctors, patients and payers works with patients and providers in developing treatment plans and payment arrangements as needed.

Monday – Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm

The targeted hiring range for this position is between $17.10 – $22.61, based on education and experience.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.

Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks. Ability to lift 25 pounds with or without accommodation.

Education and Experience Qualifications
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, plus experience in office environment

Desired: Bachelors degree in health care administration or related field, experience with insurance billing, prior authorization and co-payments experience with scheduling or heavy volume of telephone calls attention to detail. One years experience in a dental setting and customer service. Moderate level of understanding of dental insurance carriers/billing/prior authorization procedures
