Duties Summary
The
Groundskeeper I
positions uses hand and power tools to care for and maintain lawns, hedges, trees and shrubbery by raking, weeding, watering, fertilizing, trimming, mowing, and spraying places ornamental shrubs and flowering plants from pots into the ground prepares soil, sods lawns, and propagates plants and shrubs from seeds, cuttings and roots operates light motorized equipment such as power lawn mowers and power tools such as edgers, trimmers and weeders collects and disposes of trash, cuttings and other materials fertilizes and waters areas may periodically assign work to a few other employees assigned to assist in groundskeeping may occasionally perform minor maintenance, janitorial or general laboring tasks.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

No training or experience is required.
Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance – Federal Criminal History Records Check:
In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the SIDA clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found not guilty by reason of insanity, of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years.
