Job Summary


This position offers a hybrid work schedule which includes telework days and in office days at a DLI office building.

This position is responsible to establish an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality, data use and the protection of sensitive data.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of experience* with data management that includes data governance best practices.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Research, Statistics, Economics, or Math may substitute for one year of professional experience an Associate’s degree in Research, Statistics or Math may substitute for six months professional experience.

Experience should demonstrate:

  • Ability to develop data definitions, diagrams and standards around various application databases.
  • Project management skills to support multiple program initiatives requiring data governance.
  • Communications skills to effectively present complex and challenging topics to diverse audiences.
  • Technical writing to produce data-associated deliverables.
  • Ability to monitor user activities and access rights and to work with IT to establish and track user actions.
  • Ability to audit by collecting, analyzing and interpreting data and present interpretations in clear, concise form.

Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who do not share your same culture, ethnicity, language, or other common experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in developing data dictionaries and definitions.
  • Analyzing data – gathering relevant information from different sources and identifying important relationships breaking complex problems/issues into manageable, actionable components.
  • Language skills other than English (such as Somali, Spanish, Hmong, Karen or ASL).
