All Conservation Officer Recruits are assigned to Franklin County during their training period and upon successful completion will be transferred to their permanent assignment location. At the conclusion of this training period, Recruits may be assigned to one of the following counties: Anderson, Boyle, Bracken, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Henderson, Jackson, Knox, Madison, Trigg, and Wayne.
Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: High school graduate.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 21 years of age. Must possess a valid drivers license prior to and during employment in this classification https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx Employees in this job title are subject to the provisions of KRS Chapter 15 and 503 KAR 1:140 relating to peace officer certification as administered by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council. The employee must successfully complete the DOCJT Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy within twelve months of employment in this job classification Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working Conditions Conditions are consistent with other law enforcement officers. Incumbents working in this job title spend the majority of time working outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 12 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
