Hours: Full time, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Subject to OT during emergencies.

The City of Lincoln is looking for a skilled and motivated individual who wants to join an exciting and challenging team. The City has an opening for an Administrative Aide I within the Transportation Team of LTU. Collaboration and great team support provide a unique opportunity to conduct a wide array of administrative and technical tasks across several Divisions within Transportation.


Nature of Work/Examples of Work Performed

This is responsible work assisting and coordinating administrative duties in the daily operations of Transportation Team staff. As a direct report of the Administrative Aide II, this position will provide backup resources and additional supervision and coordination of staff within the administrative group. Work requires independently resolving issues and providing great customer service.

The individual in this position will have the opportunity to perform successfully on technical writing, graphics, training, and general clerical support, in addition to assisting with proposal development, permitting, tracking of street closures, budgeting, and performance measurement.


Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special Requirements

Qualifications: High school graduate supplemented by coursework in business education, business management, or related field plus 2 years of experience in a responsible supervisory capacity or equivalent combination of training and experience.


To be eligible for insurance benefits, employees must work at least 30 hours per week.

To be eligible for the retirement plan, employees must work at least 20 hours per week.

Temporary, seasonal, and unclassified employees are not eligible for benefits.
