Supervises and coordinates activities and employees related to all scribes at various locations across the organization.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent AND Two years college level course work in applicable course of study i.e. (biology, chemistry, anatomy, physics)
2. Valid Driver’s License.
EXPERIENCE:
1. One year experience as a scribe AND o ne year of prior supervisory experience OR three years of prior supervisory experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in health science related field.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Two years of previous supervisory experience.
2. One year of experience in a healthcare setting.
3. Experience in creating employee schedules.

1. Supervises and coordinates activities related to scribes and scribe training, throughout various departments.
2. Provides daily supervision to staff to ensure we are fully staffed and providing courteous service to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
3. Active participation in peer interviewing as necessary.
4. Monitors daily operations to help ensure adherence to documented administrative and departmental policies and procedures.
5. Helps the lead scribes to provide adequate staffing in all areas of the department.
6. Provides coaching and counseling to staff based upon performance management principals.
7. Identifies on-going continuing education needs of employees.
8. Keeps staff informed of process, policy and other changes thorough presentations at regular staff meetings, face to face communication and e-mail correspondence.
9. Provides support and supervision to the Scribe Trainers to ensure a thorough training program.
10. Keeps accurate scribe records.
11. Assists lead scribes with quality assurance and compliance across multiple sites.
12. May be asked to function as a scribe when needing coverage.
13. Works closely with Department Manager to identify and promptly report any issues.
14. Stays current with regards to Joint Commission Guidelines and policies.
15. Assists with remote on-boarding of new employees.
16. Works with Management to resolve Employee Health Delinquencies.
17. Prepares welcome packets of new scribes.
18. Assists with preparing monthly invoices as needed.
19. Responsible to travel within and around the state of WV as needed.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of Joint Commission Policies.
2. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
3. Knowledge of: Emergency Department flow, Ambulatory clinic flow, efficiency management medical-legal documentation, medical terminology, physical exam findings and Evaluation and Management (E&M) bill basics.
4. Qualities: Organization, professionalism, ability to take the initiative, courteous, positive attitude, strong communication skills, active listening skills, problem solver, attentiveness to detail.

Must have a quick and accurate typing speed (55 WPM).
Additional Job Description:
This position is a supervisory role that supports the Scribe Department. Applicants must have open availability and be willing to work all shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays). Travel is required.
