Job Title: Human Services Support Specialist I

About the Role:

Join Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH) as a Human Services Support Specialist I! This role supports the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, providing nutrition education, counseling, breastfeeding support, community referrals, and nutritious foods to pregnant women, infants, and children up to age 5. Responsibilities include case management support in offices, clinics, or the field.

Minimum Requirements:

One year of full-time experience supporting a human services function with direct client services, or equivalent education/experience. An associate degree or equivalent coursework in fields like social work, home economics, child development, psychology, criminal justice, or related social, behavioral, or nutritional sciences can substitute for the required experience. A valid driver’s license is required, and certain positions may need certification as a Competent Professional Authority (CPA) within six months of appointment.

Ideal candidates have experience working with diverse populations, providing direct client services, and are skilled at solving logistical problems quickly. Bilingual-Spanish fluency in oral and written communication is preferred for some positions.
