SOSi is currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Specialist to join our team in Fort Meade, MD in support of IT, Engineering & Logistics.
Essential Job Duties
- Schedule vehicle requests with instructors and staff through the Transportation Motor Pool (TMP) and assigned vehicles.
- Inspect vehicles with requesters during the issue and turn-in of government vehicles. Inspecting for proper fuel levels, cleanliness, and serviceability.
- Work with TMP for vehicles requiring service. If vehicle is found to be unacceptable due to the listed conditions, report descrepancies directly to Government.
- Operate a computer and peripherals in order to input, retrieve, and manipulate data, and to prepare correspondence, forms, and reports.
- Ensuring the proper storage of items or goods stored in the warehouse.
- Reserving space allocation for property and items or goods.
- Ensuring that labels for goods are updated and accurate and that all goods and properties are stored in the correct location.
- Ensuring that all receipts are processed in a timely manner.
- Ensuring that requested goods are delivered to the appropriate requester on time.
- Properly identifying goods or items and correcting discrepancies related to their quality, nomenclature, identification, or part numbers.
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance by physically counting and identifying items or goods in the warehouse or stock room.
- Keeping accurate and detailed records and ensuring that information or details about goods or items are correct.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Candidate must possess or be eligible for favorable T1 (NACI, national Agency Check) investigation.
- Knowledge of warehouse management.
- Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices related to supply systems, logistics management and functions, specifically property book operations and equipment regulations and procedures.
- Knowledge of equipment authorization and requesting, reporting, and turn-in procedures in order to provide advice, ensure proper procedures are taken, and determine source of supply and availability.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of workers to clarify information or instructions, and solve discrepancies or problems.
- Must be proficient in communicating effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to lift 40lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance.
