Job Description:
Are you looking for a fantastic opportunity to grow your career? The Division of Wildlife Resources is seeking to hire a highly motivated individual to join our outreach team. In this position you will work with volunteers, promote wildlife recreation and implement outreach activities for the public through expos, education clinics, workshops, festivals, competitions and other wildlife activities/events.

Principal Duties:

  • Promote, coordinate and evaluate Division of Wildlife Resources recreation programs designed to lead to increased customer recruitment and retention in angling, hunting, shooting sports and wildlife associated activities.
  • Wildlife Recreation Programs include but are not limited to, angling programs, hunting programs, shooting sports programs, watchable wildlife events and festivals, volunteer services, dedicated hunter, walk-in-access programs and other wildlife associated recreation programs.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Will have experience working with volunteers.
  • Familiarity with Wildlife laws and rules.
  • The ability to multi task.
  • Experience with hunting and fishing.
  • Experience holding or putting on educational clinics and workshops.
  • Experience working with the public.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • People skills.
  • Organization.
  • Self starter.
  • Coordinate with other agencies / groups / volunteers.
  • Basic MS Office skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Able to operate a 4×4 vehicle.
  • Able to pull a trailer.
  • Able to operate an ohv.

Supplemental Information

  • Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work however, there may be some walking standing bending carrying light items driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
  • Occasional lifting of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely use and handle firearms.
  • Requires the occasional weekend and evening work.
  • Ability to conduct work for an extended period of time in a variety of weather conditions (snow/rain in temperatures ranging from below freezing to in excess of 100 F).
