Green Valley Animal Hospital is a fast paced, two doctor, small animal practice in Bluefield, WV. We are a fast-paced environment that strive to help each other while providing our patients with top-notch care. We are looking for a full-time and/or part-time veterinary assistant/technician. We use our assistants/technicians to their full potential. We provide training to assist with technical skills. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Checks patient medical records for past histories, enters in computer and files.
  • Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.*
  • Maintains client educational material in an efficient manner.*
  • Performs departmental housekeeping duties.*
  • Admits and discharges patients.*
  • Takes, processes and logs prescription refills in-house, call out pharmacy and online pharmacy.*
  • Monitoring hospital patients and logging vital signs.*
  • Administering medications to patients as needed.*
  • Placing catheters and performing blood draws.*
  • Restraining and assisting the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.*
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in [STATE] are preferred, not necessarily required. We are open and willing to train the right candidate.
