Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the pick-up and delivery of mail and supplies between Horizon buildings and U.S. Post Office. This position will also be responsible for commuter and passenger van services.
- Drives the van between all Horizon locations and picks up/delivers mail and supplies.
- Monitors the workflow of mail receivables throughout the unit.
- Loads and unloads vehicle.
- Delivers packages and stock materials weighing up to 75 pounds to designated areas
- Ensures proper operation of vehicle including fuel replacement as needed and reports any mechanical problem to management.
- Maintain vehicle control log.
- Pick up U.S. Mail from U.S. Post Office and sign for Certified mail.
- Performs related duties essential to the performance of the basic assignments by management.
- Serves as back up driver for other Corporate Services vehicles. (Building to Building).
- Will be required to perform all mail clerk activities as a back-up to the mail clerk.
- High school diploma or GED required-
- Prefer one (1) year driving mid-size van.
- Requires a valid New Jersey drivers license and good driving record, to be determined via a New Jersey DMV check.
- Prefer knowledge of United States postal requirements and regulations.
- Prefer knowledge of overnight express vendor processes.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Requires the ability to stand, stoop and lift heavy items up to 75 pounds.
- Requires ability to push or pull equipment weighing approximately 60 pounds.
