JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Geography in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is seeking summer Undergraduate Research Assistants. The Research Assistant position will be 30-40 hours/week during the summer months.

Job duties for the successful candidate will include the following:

  • Assist with field work and water quality data acquisition in the field
  • Assist with acquisition of publicly available data and quality control
  • Conduct data analysis, which will include not only analysis of collected data, but also relevant literature review and synthesis of both publicly available and previously published data.
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned/needed to support project goals.

Experience with R, Microsoft Office, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software (e.g. ArcGIS Pro, QGIS) is desired. A driver’s license is necessary.

Position can range from 10-40 hours/week in summer, and part-time hours are possible in fall.
