Work Schedule:
Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 2pm-5pm, 10 hours every other weekend, occasional evening or additional hours as needed. This position is non-benefited and not to exceed 1,000 hours in a year.

Brief Description of Work:

This employee will serve as a visitor services assistant in various locations within the Greensboro History Museum at 130 Summit Avenue. He/she greets and interacts with visitors as an interpreter and security assistant, helps with rentals and special events, and supports museum operations. This person must have strong verbal skills. This is a year-round position. The work schedule is every other weekend as needed, and may include additional hours per month to assist with museum operations as requested.

The job is NON-EXEMPT under Fair Labor Standards Act.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • “OR” No High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of experience (paid or volunteer), working with the public in an educational setting such (i.e. museum, school, daycare, or library)


An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Museum experience ( paid or volunteer)
  • College coursework in history, education, or related field
