Position Summary

The Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center (HSLIC) is looking for a student employee to join our team and assist with compiling and analyzing data from customer satisfaction surveys it has administered over the last 15 years to help enhance library services and impact. In this position, you will gain hands-on experience in data analysis and visualization and have the opportunity to contribute to research reports providing a tangible contribution to your resume.

In order to be successful in this job, you must be very skilled at using Microsoft Excel to compile and analyze large data sets. The candidate will use independent judgement and decision-making to work with the project team to curate, analyze, validate, and create visualizations of survey data. You may also have the opportunity to participate in writing and editing research reports generated from this study. This is a grant-funded, 6-month term position, 10 hours per week, starting in the summer. Duties include:
  • Using Excel to compile and analyze large data sets including quantitative and qualitative survey data
  • Identifying trends in survey data
  • Creating data visualizations and tables
  • Coding survey qualitative survey data
  • Participating in writing and editing data analysis

Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • Experience creating data visualizations and tables
