Duties

  • This announcement serves as public notice. Applications submitted be placed into a pool and will remain on file for selection as positions become available.

  • This position is a career ladder to the GS-12. Assuming youre performing adequately in the position and you have no conduct or leave issues, you will be non-competitively promoted to the GS-12 in 52 weeks.

Qualifications

To qualify for this GS-11 position, applicants must have at least one of the following:
  • 52 weeks of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 and/or GS-10 level (or above) in the federal service that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience must include developing, examining, investigating, adjudicating, authorizing, or otherwise administering claims for medical disability programs OR
  • A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR
  • Completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education (generally at least 54 semester hours) leading to a Ph.D. or LL.M., if related OR
  • A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.

This is a developmental position leading to the full performance level of GS-12. Closer supervision and technical guidance and/or on-the-job training are provided. Duties are gradually broadened so the incumbent is eventually performing the duties of the full performance level.

This is a bargaining unit position represented by AFGE.
