Under supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, the Human Resource Services Division, Payroll Support Unit is accepting applications for Seasonal Clerk. The Seasonal Clerk will provide a wide variety of support services. Duties include, but not limited to the following: filing, photocopying, scan and purge personnel documents. Use the personal computer to create labels, file folders and track files on the Payroll Share Point Site data base. Operate duplicating machines, and/or other office equipment. Answer telephones, maintain the reception desk, send email messages and assist customers, picking-up, delivering and ddistributing mail.
Excellent customer service, efficiency, and attention to detail are essential. The incumbent must be able to work independently, follow both verbal and written instructions, organize workload priorities, exercise good judgment, communicate effectively, and demonstrate a pattern of dependability.

Position exists in downtown Sacramento.
751 N Street, Sacramento, CA 95814 Located within walking distance to light rail, farmers market during the summer months, variety of retailers, and restaurants and food trucks.

Working Conditions

Visa Sponsorship

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment.

This position is required to provide in-office support during the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The incumbent works in a cubicle environment in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control. The incumbent is required to routinely work on a computer and telephone throughout the day.

Statement of Qualifications Requirements

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is Required. The SOQ serves as documentation of each candidate’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. The SOQ is not a resume or cover letter.


The SOQ must be typed, no more than one page in length, no less than 12-point font, and must include a response to both statements below, including specific examples.

Background Investigation Requirement
