Job Description :

Our client, a Virtual Financial Asset Service Provider regulated by the MFSA, is in search of a Risk Officer to join their team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying, mitigating, and monitoring risks within a dynamic business environment focused on B2B transactions or high net worth individuals for crypto payment processing, OTC trading, and wallet solutions. The responsibilities of the Risk Officer will include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing and assessing risks across various functions of the company and providing internal advice on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Contributing to the development and execution of the risk management strategy and maintaining the Risk Appetite framework.
  • Monitoring current trends and implementing actions to mitigate identified risks.
  • Maintaining the Company’s Risk Register and drafting policies and procedures as required.
  • Participating in the Risk Committee meetings as an active member.
  • Preparing quarterly board reports outlining the companys risk-related activities.
  • Presenting the Risk Report during Board Meetings.
  • Ensuring compliance with Risk Management and Capital Adequacy controls, and conducting Liquidity and Stress Testing as needed.
  • Compiling and maintaining the Company’s Risk Appetite.
  • Representing the company during MFSA Audits regarding the Risk Register and methodologies for risk oversight.
  • Conducting Risk Assessments on prospective Critical Suppliers and Outsourcing arrangements, and conducting ongoing monitoring on existing relationships.

Requirements for the role include:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • A relevant University degree, with post-graduate degrees considered an asset.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong team player skills, capable of leading in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal departments and external counterparts.
  • Attention to detail.
