Life Science Data Engineering team currently supports data pipeline making $66+M in revenue and $15+M in IOI, with ongoing 2024+ growth of financial goals. This role is linked to the LSDE goals of reducing product latency by &gt10% and increasing speed to market, as well as increasing active patient lives in LS products.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design new data pipelines, systems, and infrastructure on AWS
  • Optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and costs of data infrastructure and ETL processes
  • Develop innovative prototypes and production-ready data applications
  • Automate and orchestrate end-to-end analytic workflows
  • Enhance data infrastructure with robust data governance, quality, security, and metadata
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
  • Monitor performance and improve data assets and processing methods
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams on the data and analytics platform

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience designing, building and testing ETL pipelines
  • 4+ years of experience optimizing, scaling and improving ETL pipelines
  • 4+ years of experience providing code review and documenting technical designs
  • 4+ years of experience working with healthcare data
  • 3+ years of experience developing with AWS services like EC2, EMR, Glue, Lambda, Spark
  • Experience designing and implementing automation systems
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Git, CI/CD, DevOps
  • Proven ability to mentor and guide technical teams
  • Proven excellent communication, collaboration, stakeholder management skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
