About Corporate Sustainability (CS) Team:

The American Express Corporate Affairs &amp Communications (CA&ampC) team is a strategic function that works to enhance and protect the continued strength of the American Express brand through public relations, social media and content, colleague communications, Corporate Sustainability (CS), Community Impact and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives.

How will you make an impact in this role?

The Portfolio Associate will report to the Vice President of Global Philanthropy and work closely to support the Community Impact team. This newly created role is an important member of the department, serving as the point of contact and connection for high profile Enterprise projects and servicing, including supporting cross-cutting projects (e.g. to support company strategy, internal and external reporting, Portfolio quarterly reviews and tracking), AEMP22 compliance and speaker vetting, supporting executive Special Projects, and supporting with managing logistics and event planning for high-profile internal and external activations.

The ideal candidate must be a highly organized, analytical, generalist, who is proactive and comfortable with ambiguity.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Track and support initial screening on new pipeline and executive grant referrals
  • Support development of dashboards and tracker (financial and impact) to support external reporting requirements
  • Monthly/quarterly collection of financial and impact data + analysis of data for insights and reporting
  • Support development and implementation of revised AEMP22 compliance guidelines to ensure fidelity for corporate contributions across colleagues, business units and geographies.
  • Support logistics and management of Enterprise and Community Impact activations in American Express Headquarters (Tower), such as Give2Gether Campaign and NYC Leadership Academy.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Strong data and analytics background, comfort working in databases (e.g. Workiva, SmartSimple, Salesforce, etc.), spreadsheets and analyzing metrics is a must.
    • Self-starter with a curiosity to identify opportunities for improvement, as well as support change management as a part of ongoing evolution
    • Event management, logistics, and community organizing skills highly desired.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
    • Highly personable, communicative and collaborative, that proactively enjoys and seeks to connect across various team members, functions, and geographies.
    • Can-do attitude who is solutions oriented, comfortable with ambiguity, and enjoys being a generalist to support various projects.
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office skills, in particular PowerPoint and Excel and a demonstrated ability to learn new technologies / systems as necessary.
    • Excellent verbal/ written communication and interpersonal skills

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
