Job Description : Meet all company and regulatory deadlines
Prepare Journal entries related to payroll and benefits and record timely and accurately Prepare reconciliation of flexible spending accounts, 401K, and any other benefits as needed
Review quarterly and annual payroll tax reporting documents
Reconcile General Ledger accounts to payroll records and payments and resolve any discrepancies
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
Perform compensation analysis for company as needed for new positions and pay grade/comp change requests
Set up withholding tax account and state unemployment numbers as required
Perform various calculations to determine pay adjustments/increases
Perform market analysis as needed for new jobs and pay grade establishments
Assist with compensation reviews as needed
Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
Works with team to develop, implement, and review payroll processes for payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions Completion of annual 990s
Perform year end functions in Payroll system and GL as needed
Serves as the payroll backup
Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field

Strong understanding and working knowledge of Debits/Credits, Expense and Liability Accounts

Strong understanding of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Knowledge of legislation and regulations of the payroll field

Experience with multi-state taxation and employment laws

Must have strong organization, interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to problem solve and think critically to find solutions

Strong attention to detail

Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel
