Work Days: Monday-Friday

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $26.81 – $30.22

  • As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 – Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices

Position Summary

Under general direction, assists the Associate Dean for Diversity with administrative and logistical support.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with identifying new grant opportunies through the NIH, other government organizations and private foundations.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with WCM as well as funding agencies and department administration. Assist with the development and submission of protocols.
  • Draw up documents including manuscripts, grant applications, progress reports, student/trainee evaluations and other correspondence. Assist in preparation of grant renewals, progress reports, budgets.
  • Assist other diversity centered offices and staff, including meetings and event preparation.
  • Work with Deans of diversity, faculty and staff on curriculum, applications and clinical placement and research projects for pipeline programs.
  • Assist in preparation for institutional LCME review/accreditation, including writing and review of documents/reports. Assist with administrative management of IRB protocols for research studies.
  • Independently manage the Diversity website and Diversity newsletter, including regularly developing and writing new material and update program information.
  • Aid in planning domestic and international meetings, forums, workshops and other events. This includes budget, event logistics, presentations, sponsorship, and other tasks to ensure successful and productive events.
  • Serve as a contact and resource for medical students, residents, fellows and faculty involved in research and diversity programs.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in related field

Experience

Experience working in multicultural environments with a demonstratred interest in enhancing diversity is highly desired.

Previous research background/experience is highly desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Previously demonstrated advanced proficiency in MS Suite products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain and respect confidentiality.
