JOB DESCRIPTION:
- This position will be responsible for performing all clerical and information technology functions for a physician in a clinic setting.
- This includes primary responsibility of the operation of electronic health records and electronic dictation system.
- Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits, procedures and treatments being performed by healthcare professionals as well as assist with providing basic patient education.
- Must also be able to anticipate physician needs to facilitate the flow of clinic.
- Medical scribes must be discreet, tactful and modest in performance of duties so as not to distract medical staff from patient care.
- Good judgement, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail and the ability to be self-motivated are especially important.
- Ability to learn and use all functions of the electronic medical record software.
- Must comply with HIPAA confidentiality.
- Other duties include assisting with patient rooming process, communicating and waits and delays to patients and clinical team liaison between front and back office for patient communication needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with different software systems and touch-screen electronics.
- Medical terminology preferred.

Proficient in typing and use of Microsoft office software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs 0-33% of the work day (occasionally) 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently) 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly) Lifting 50 lbs max Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
