Job Description : Overview: The Manager, Project Management Office for the Consulting division is responsible for planning, researching, developing, and executing the overarching business initiatives that advance Consulting’s goals and objectives. This position supervises a team of individuals working in support of these strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads a team and draws upon cross-functional resources to turn Consulting’s strategies into actionable implementation efforts.
  • Helps develop and implement project management best practices, governance, and promotes continuous improvement.
  • Provides supervision and coaching for the Project Management staff to include:
    • providing real-time constructive feedback on an ongoing basis
    • developing and communicating clear guidelines and expectations
    • assessing individual training needs and coordinating training accordingly
    • assisting employees in setting individual professional development and team goals to maximize performance, efficiency and work quality
    • providing appropriate support in performance problems
    • overseeing of staff recruitment and orientation
    • mentoring staff and holding staff accountable for meeting goals.
  • Defines and oversees critical strategic initiatives in close collaboration with the Director, Consulting Operations to advance the position VEIC.
  • Plays a lead role in representing consulting on corporate Project Management Office (PMO) initiatives by providing input, gathering, and receiving information to then apply it in consulting. Assist in company-wide key activities change management efforts to include but not limited to: Process improvement (SOPs), cohesive and standardized integrated approaches (SIPs), Roles &amp responsibilities.
  • Responsible for identifying gaps or improvement opportunities with standard operating procedures and updates as needed.
  • Serves as a catalyst for adaptive, creative approaches and ideas encourages big-thinking and responsible risk-taking.
  • Provides clear, concise, and timely communication, guidance, and decision-making, building clarity and consensus around goals and strategies
  • Leads and promotes cross-functional collaboration on behalf of consulting and representing to empower staff to implement projects with a high degree of understanding and accountability.
  • Supports activities of other staff and divisions within VEIC as necessary to accomplish organizational goals and objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC.
  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of professional experience in project management or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. PMP certification preferred.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in change management frameworks at an organizational level.
  • Proven ability to be self-motivated, detail-oriented, accurate, and able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities successfully.
  • Proven track record and commitment to work, learn, and grow in a large organizational environment.
  • Strong team and collaborative work skills.
  • Leadership and personal accountability ability to drive the effectiveness of the team and deliver key success metrics/milestones.
  • Exceptional, demonstrated project management skills.
  • Experience and capability with Microsoft Office applications.
