Job Description : Job Summary: GENERAL DESCRIPTION Manages emergency dispatch services for public safety. Job Duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides supervision and oversight of Emergency Dispatchers
  • Demonstrates positive role model and leadership qualities.
  • Prepares a variety of reports and maintains a variety of records and logs.
  • Research, prepare, and conduct in-house training sessions as assigned.
  • Complies with applicable tribal, state, and federal laws/regulations regarding the security, safety, and confidentiality of any record they create, maintain, transfer, or destroy, whether the record is written, taped, computerized, or stored in any other medium.
  • Will be responsible for Quality Assurance/Improvement
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Knowledge of the fields policies, procedures, practices and tabulates data as necessary.
  • Supervises and directs the work of other employees.
  • Has authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.
  • Supervises 5-20 employees
Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and taste or smell. The employee may frequently sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee regularly will talk or listen. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must obtain and maintain certifications in Oklahoma Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (OLETS), Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD), Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), Emergency Police Dispatch (EPD) within one year of hire date. Completion of the following courses, as described by the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency: Incident Command System, 100, 200,700.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Must comply with Cherokee Nation Office of the Marshal Policies, Procedures, and Code of Conduct.

The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIGs Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSAs List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIGs List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Must be able to pass a law enforcement background investigation. Must remain Criminal Justice Information Services compliant. Must live within the Cherokee Nation Reservation.
