The Northrop Grumman (NG) Human Resources organization is seeking a Learning & Development Manager to join the Enterprise Technical Talent Development organization (TD).
TD delivers development resources to the global NGC workforce through 3 primary activities:
1) understanding the company’s current & future development needs
2) defining, developing, and deploying strategic content and programs
3) ensuring resources are accessible and relevant to all users.
In support of this mission, TD provides thought leadership, strategic design, and enterprise execution of talent development solutions.
This position will be primarily located in Falls Church, VA, however, we will consider virtual telecommuters, or candidates working at any other major NG location.
Key Responsibilities
The Learning & Development Manager (LDM), reporting to the Enterprise Technical Talent Development Director, leads the Learning & Development team and strategy. The LDM collaborates extensively across the enterprise to create and execute enterprise talent development strategies and transformational solutions aligned to our most critical business and workforce development needs.
As the LDM, you will:

Collaborate with technical & functional stakeholders and subject matter experts on the planning, development, implementation, and sustainment of talent development solutions

Develop and deliver innovative and engaging virtual and/or in-person training and development offerings, emphasizing experiential and simulation-based learning

Manage L&D projects from start to finish, including establishing goals & timelines, coordinating project meetings, tracking progress, and identifying/addressing risks

Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise in learning methodologies, especially modern learning

Define business-driven success outcomes and apply the Enterprise Learning & Development Measurement Framework to evaluate the impact of programs and initiatives

Partner with communications and change management teams to ensure effective deployment and utilization of training and development resources

Prepare and present briefings to multiple stakeholder groups, including C-suite leaders

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with at least 9 years of relevant experience (7 years with a Master’s and 4 years with Doctorate) 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree

Demonstrated ability to create & deliver training/development resources and curricula

Demonstrated project management skills, including experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

Demonstrated experience collaborating across organizational boundaries and influencing stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Education, Organizational Leadership, or related field

Demonstrated proficiency delivering executive-level presentations

Demonstrated experience with core HR capabilities, including consulting, coaching, communications, and change management, including relevant certifications (e.g., Prosci, Society for Human Resources Management, Professional in Human Resources)

Worked in/around the technical & functional domains we support (e.g., Systems Engineering, Software, Manufacturing, Program Management, Business Development)
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
