Job Description : Employment Type: Full time Shift: Night Shift Description: Come join the Virtual Monitoring team – ONSITE – at Saint Francis Hospital part of Trinity Health Of New England!!

Position Purpose

This is an onsite position working in Hartford, CT !! Responsible for assisting the nursing staff in the continuous monitoring of patients requiring close observation via remote camera monitoring. Serves in a lead role monitoring efficiency of equipment utilization as well as workflow, communication and training needs.

What you will do

  • Monitors workflows and communications from the department mgmt team

  • Creates work assignments, assigns breaks and provides relief coverage when needed. Monitors communications and updates hospital contact lists at every change of shift and change in assignment.

  • Provides training, education and on-boarding of colleagues. Serves as a resource answering questions and resolving problems pertaining to system usage and functionality

  • Maintains visual observation at all times, monitoring patient behaviors and movements

  • Remains alert at all times while on duty and recognizes behaviors that could result in potential harm to patient. Supports the plan of care for patient requiring virtual monitoring. Verbally redirects patient over digital 2-way audio device

  • Communication to department manager regarding the needs of the department, staffing concerns, feedback for performance evaluations. External customers include all ministry partners transmitting to the hub bedside colleagues and leadership

  • Provides nursing staff with information in a timely fashion when patient appears to pose a threat to themselves or others. Provides for patient comfort, safety, and protects dignity, privacy and confidentiality

Minimum Qualifications

  • General knowledge normally acquired by completing a high school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Capable of continuous monitoring of up to 18 patients at one time.

  • Lead by example and work Independently to maintain accuracy, consistency and patient confidentiality

  • Basic Computer skills Previous experience working in a healthcare setting as well as team lead or supervisory experience – a plus
