Job Description :

Duties

  • Operate heavy powered equipment performing tasks that require prior work experience and training.
  • Tasks include ground maintenance on grades and slopes, digging ditches and trenches, washing buildings using high pressure sprayers, operating tillers to prepare lawns for sod and bedding plants, and cutting trees using axes or chain saws.
  • Perform general maintenance of NAF facilities requiring use of heavy powered equipment and heavy tools.
  • Break up concrete, mix and pour concrete and asphalt.
  • Reset nails, replace hardware, relocate playgrounds, flowerbeds and portable structures.
  • Advise facility director of potential safety hazards and identifies repairs required.

  • Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Successful completion of initial safety training within 90 days of employment is required.
  • May be exposed to adverse weather conditions when working outdoors. Exposed to drafts, noise, dust, and dirt. Possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes.
  • Required to follow safety procedures and use standard safety equipment such as gloves, ear protectors, and safety glasses and exercise proper handling of equipment to avoid serious injury in the work area.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
  • This is a flexible position that there are no guaranteed hours. Must be willing to serve in a continuing position on a scheduled or as needed basis.
  • A physical is required.
  • Must be able to life items weighing over 50 lbs.
  • Must attend Team Member Orientation within the first 30 days of employment.
  • All Employees are required to be available for Community Events that the Business Operations Division supports.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Six (6) months of laboring experience is required.
2. Must be able to work under general supervision, responding to initial oral or written instructions and completing assigned tasks.

Best Qualified:
Possess at least twelve (12) months of experience as a laborer or similar position at a golf course.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Governments interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
