Laboratory Receiving Clerk

ChristianaCare is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Receiving Clerk to work in the Wilmington General Lab. The work hours are Evening shift, 2:30pm. to 11:00pm. Every other weekend and 2-3 Holidays as required.

In this role you will perform pre and post analytical functions that support the testing of specimens received in the General Laboratory.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

• Process, sort, and deliver laboratory specimens and request slips

• Print and properly affix identification labels to all incoming patient specimens

• Prioritize incoming work, ensuring samples for stat testing are delivered to the appropriate laboratory section in order to maintain stated turnaround times

• Communicate specimen priority to testing personnel upon delivery

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Two years applicable clinical experience working in a lab environment with specimens or equivalent college courses in the health care field preferred
