Lab Technician – Entry level, will train!

Monogram Biosciences, part of LabCorp, is seeking a Cell Culture Lab Technician to join its Support Operations team in South San Francisco! As part of the Cell Culture and Critical Reagent group, this position will work in a highly collaborative team environment and will help support the labs at Monogram. This is a great entry-level opportunity to join an innovative organization and receive targeted one-on-one training that will help the individual grow in a career in the biotechnology field. This position will not be working inside the clinical laboratory.

The schedule for this position will be Sunday-Thursday, 5:00am-130pm. During training, schedule will be Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Supply and maintain various cell lines used throughout the Clinical, and Research and Development departments of Monogram
• Perform cell culture techniques including managing cell lines, passaging, seeding, banking, and growth optimization
• Screen for mycoplasma
• Assist with the maintenance of records to comply with regulatory requirements under Quality Control and Quality Assurance guidelines
• Assist with QC and calibration of cell plater
• Prepare plasmid controls
• Operate sophisticated instrumentation and perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting as needed
• Practice aseptic / sterile techniques
• May participate in creating Standard Operating Procedures
• Comply with all safety/infection control policies and procedures

Requirements

• BS/BA in Biology, Chemistry or similar scientific discipline required
• No previous experience required
• Familiarity with aseptic techniques and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
• Strong computer skills: familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is beneficial
• Experience with SOPs, QA and QC standards
• Must have good organizational skills and strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in collaborative, flexible work environment
• Ability to work flexible hours during training

Pay Range: $28.39-35.00/hour
