Job Summary:



The Department of Economic Security, Division of Technology Services (DTS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Information Security Analyst. The Information Security Analyst will support and contribute to the coordinated intake and successful delivery of Security Services which meet agency defined business and technical requirements. This position identifies, evaluates, and communicates opportunities to address new or ongoing issues and areas of concern to enhance existing IT Security processes and efficiency and collaborate with Security personnel to introduce, implement, and track measures demonstrating improvements. This position produces reports for management concerning residual risk, vulnerabilities, and other security exposures, including misuse of information assets and noncompliance.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support weekly and monthly reporting to leadership concerning delivery of security services and identified gaps and risks.
  • Drive process/continuous improvement, suggest changes to existing standards/templates/ tools based on best practices and inefficiencies creating new best practice templates/tools where they do not exist.
  • Track all open security issues and long-range security projects to ensure delivery per remediation policy.
  • Coordinates with Security personnel to drive security awareness activities including development of materials, scheduling, and delivery of training to employees.
  • Organize and maintain Security Service Portfolio, Audit Artifacts, and Information Library.

Knowledge, Skills &amp Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
  • Laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity and privacy.
  • Cybersecurity and privacy principles.
  • Service management concepts for networks and related standards (e.g., Information Technology Infrastructure Library, current version [ITIL]).
  • An organizations information classification program and procedures for information compromise.

Skill in:
  • Office Productivity software.
  • Knowledge management and information organization including technical documentation techniques.
  • Processing collected data for follow-on analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication.

Ability to:
  • Recognize vulnerabilities in security systems.
  • Apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation).
  • Rapidly assimilate information and make associated recommendations.
  • Summarize and present composite information both written and verbally.
  • Efficiently and professionally communicate with all levels of personnel.
  • Develop and write technical documentation.

  • Employee shall obtain and maintain a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to S.B.1164.

Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
  • Associate’s degree or 1 – 3 years of experience in information security analysis (or equivalent experience).

You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
