Duties

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in providing recruitment and placement service to non-appropriated fund activities. Receives requests to fill vacant positions, checks for the presence of all necessary documents and completion of all necessary items on documents. Gives employment information on positions to applicants. Prepares and forwards lists of qualified applicants to selecting officials. May arrange for interviews and maintains applicant files.

Provides specific items of information to NAF employees regarding personnel matters found in commonly used regulations, manuals, or other guidance.

Prepares documents and forms necessary to formalize employment actions. Maintains correspondence, files, personnel records folders, position control files, locator cards, step increase, suspense file, blank form files, group insurance files, workers compensation, and security clearance files. Receives and processes inquiries concerning the NAF personnel program.

Performs other related duties as required.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This is a non-critical sensitive position requiring the incumbent to obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility at the secret level.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
  • A valid State drivers license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate possess the following:

The incumbent must have at least one year of work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Knowledge of office file arrangement and the purpose and content of the documents in the file, including OPFs, the ability to file and retrieve information and maintain suspense records in accordance with office filing procedures.

Knowledge of steps and procedures used to process personnel documents.

Knowledge of personnel processing language, procedures and options to process a full range of recurring types of official personnel actions.

Knowledge of office file arrangement and the purpose and content of documents in the file, and ability to file and retrieve information and maintain suspense records in accordance with office filing procedures.

Ability to understand and provide basic program information.

Familiarity with and ability to type and use a computer including an automated personnel system, Word, Excel, Spreadsheets, Database, etc.

Education

This position does not have a positive education requirement.

Additional information

Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.

Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
