DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The position involves conducting technical tasks related to the creation of various highway plans, bridge plans, right-of-way plot plans, and other related drawings using computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) workstations. Responsibilities include developing highway or bridge plans in accordance with Design Manual – Part 3, Pub. 408, Items Catalog, and CADD standards, from initial sketches to final detailed working plans. The role also entails drafting construction plans, verifying grade lines, creating profiles and cross sections, estimating earthwork and materials quantities, and calculating excavation with guidance from senior designers or supervisors.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Montoursville.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING &amp ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • One year as an Engineering Technician. or
  • Two years of experience in a variety of drafting assignments, one of which shall have been in highway drafting, including six months CADD experience or training, and graduation from high school or
  • One year of experience in highway drafting and detailing assignments including six months of CADD experience or training and an Associates Degree in civil engineering, drafting, or design technology or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
