Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.
  • Experience working with and analyzing data, and managing multiple projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Masters degree, PhD, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with R, SQL, spreadsheets, or similar analytics tools.
  • Experience working with product and engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of mobile ecosystems and app store platforms.
  • Ability to identify problems, develop effective solutions, and implement them.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

As the Games Strategy lead for Google Play, you will be responsible for crafting a compelling narrative around the Play Gaming Strategy, its key pillars and the performance against this strategy. You will partner across Play leadership to deliver insightful narratives around key initiatives, performance, and other areas of executive interest to help facilitate data-driven decision-making and strategic planning for Google Play Games. You will collaborate with other Google products areas, and respective Strategy Operations teams in crafting and executing on a shared Google games strategy.

The Platforms and Ecosystems product area encompasses Googles various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications). The products provide enterprises, and ultimately end users, the ability to utilize and manage their services at scale. We build innovative and compelling software products—from apps to TVs, from laptops to phones—that have an impact on people’s lives across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$207,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Help to craft strategy and business plans and articulate Games performance in the industry.
  • Identify and structure business and product problems and communicate challenges and opportunities.
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners, obtain buy in for potential solutions, and adapt messaging and suggested recommendations based on feedback.
  • Monitor industry trends that impacts games strategy.
  • Visualize data to illustrate patterns and trends, craft sophisticated narratives, and synthesize and communicate findings, initiatives, and progress to leadership.
