SALARY:
The salary range for this position is $85,628.14 to $135,623.54. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.

The Middlesex Vicinage is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic individual committed to the values of quality service and promoting diversity with strong analytical, administrative communication and writing skills to serve as a Court Executive 1B (Vicinage Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action [EEO/AA] Officer). Under the direction of the Court Executive 3B (Trial Court Administrator), the Vicinage EEO/AA Officer will investigate discrimination and sexual harassment complaints made by employees, job applicants, or court users in a timely manner and recommend appropriate remedial action as necessary. The selected individuals responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, implementing the Judiciarys EEO/AA Master Plan, updating and executing the Vicinage EEO/AA Implementation Plan, conducting statistical workforce analysis and preparing appropriate reports conducting recruitment and community outreach developing and providing training on EEO/AA issues and staffing the Vicinage Advisory Committee on Minority Concerns. The candidate will monitor all employment practices and procedures on a continuous basis including, but not limited to, recruitment, selections, hiring, training, promotions, transfers, disciplines, discharges, demotion, layoffs, reemployment after layoff, job assignments, and compensation advise the Assignment Judge, TCA, and Managers regarding the requirement and methods for ensuring compliance with State and Federal anti-discrimination laws and regulations and EEO/AA policies and procedures. Duties also include preparation of reports, proposals and guidelines as required conducting inquiries, mediation, counseling and conflict management sessions in order to resolve workplace issues building positive working relationships with and serving as a resource to judges, management and staff supervising, mentoring and coaching staff and handling other duties as assigned.


REMOTE WORK
: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree and three years of professional administrative experience, one of which shall have included experience in administering EEO/AA plan, updating EEO/AA plan, conducting EEO/AA investigations, recruitment and outreach activities, and/or monitoring employment practices and procedures.

Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associates degree and two years of additional professional experience may be substituted for the required bachelors degree. A masters degree may be substituted for one year of experience as indicated above -OR- a law degree may be substituted for two years of experience as indicated above.

Supplemental Information

Drivers License: Appointee will be required to possess a drivers license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the New Jersey First Act, all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor &amp Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
