Overview

The Agency of Commerce and Community Development is seeking an Economic Research Analyst to provide technical research, analysis and economic modeling for the Agencys projects and initiatives. These include supporting the work of the Vermont Economic Progress Council as well as the regional and statewide marketing and planning efforts. This individual will plan research design, analyze statistical data, evaluate results, and publish findings.


The ability to organize, process and synthesize large amounts of data the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing and the ability to work well with others, including colleagues, legislators, and members of the media, are all paramount.


Masters Degree in Statistics or Economics required as well as a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in quantitative research and data analysis. This position is based in the Montpelier office with the ability for remote work for most of the week.

Environmental Factors

Duties are generally performed under normal office conditions. Private means of transportation must be available for occasional travel. Interaction with federal, state, and local officials, and private and public service data providers is present. Some work outside of normal office hours may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years of experience working with data analysis and presentation of statistical data or economic forecasting and projection, quantitative research, or program evaluation.

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, economics, data science or a related economic field.
