Introduction


Bring your administrative professional experience to the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) as a Program Assistant (Program Assistant-Advanced Confidential) for the Bureau of Field Services, Southeast Region. This position works directly with the Regional Manager, Operations Manager, supervisors, and budget coordinators to oversee the general operations of the Region. This position will be headquartered in Milwaukee, WI at 433 West St. Paul Ave.

This position will have the opportunity to work up to 3 days remotely per week.

Position Summary


In this position, you will provide support to the Regional Manager, Operations Manager, and Southeast Region Supervisors and provide guidance to other region headquarters administrative staff. You will assist with the coordination of budget data preparation as well as advise and assist supervisors with policies, procedures, and general section program activities. Other duties include:

  • Research, compilation, analysis and documentation of special program data and reports
  • Liaison with other departmental unites
  • Assistance with process purchasing and contractual services
  • Review and analysis of region service activities
  • Maintenance of computerized databases and computer-generating reporting systems

Salary Information


This position is in schedule-range (81-05) with a salary of $22.00/hr ($45,760 annually)-$26.50/hr ($55,120 annually) , plus excellent benefits . A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

This position requires the ability to occasionally travel on an independent basis to all DMV Customer Service Centers located in the Southeast Region. This position will be expected to visit all service centers once every 6 months.

Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process. For permanent positions that allow remote work flexibility, it is not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin (or bordering cities) will be allowed because positions may need to report to office locations in Wisconsin on short notice.

Qualifications


Qualified applicants will have experience with all the following:

  • Experience working independently and setting priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Experience using databases, spreadsheets, and word processing programs.
  • Experience providing customer service such as answering questions, resolving issues, explaining policies, etc.
  • Experience conducting work area assessments and recommendation.

In addition to having all the above, well qualified applicants will have experience with one or more of the following:

  • Experience conducting procurement activities.
  • Experience performing administrative assistance in a professional environment.
  • Experience utilizing discretion with sensitive and/or confidential communications and situations.
