The Arts and Sciences Foundation’s mission is to enhance the College by meeting the needs of its academic departments, units, and centers promoting teaching, research and service and supporting the continued development of knowledge and learning.
Position Summary The Development Data Analyst is responsible for the strategic analysis and reporting of critical development data from several of the university’s databases as well as external systems.
This position provides prospect management, donor pipeline support, data analysis and utilizes various research tools to assist the development team in making data-driven decisions as they fulfill their mission of raising funds in support of the mission of the College of Arts and Sciences. This position exercises a high level of creativity and quality control to ensure reports and data extracts convey comprehensive and complex information in an understandable and accurate manner. This position will be required to develop and maintain knowledge of applicable business intelligence tools, while also acquiring and applying new skills as data analysis and business intelligence tools continue to evolve. This position will work closely with the Dean, the Sr. Associate Dean for Development and President of the Foundation, the Sr. Director/VP of Donor Relations and Communications, the Sr. Director/VP of Foundation Operations and Strategy and Foundation development officers to coordinate the cultivation and solicitation of major gift prospects.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Master’s or Bachelors and 0-2 years’ experience or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Demonstrated ability to synthesize, summarize, and assess the relative value of a high volume of information from a variety of sources to create concise and confidential research reports in a variety of formats. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse constituencies, meet deadlines, be self-motivated, work independently, show flexibility, and adaptability to shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Experience in a complex fundraising organization situated within the higher education or non-profit sector preferred
- Knowledge of prospect research principles, practices, and tools of the trade
- Excellent organizational skills interpersonal, consulting and project management skills attention to detail and accuracy creativity and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with UNC-Chapel Hill
- Familiarity with Blackbaud CRM (Davie)
