Demand Planning
Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud. We are
responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around
the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and
manageability. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted

Within CO+I, the strategic Supply Chain team is responsible for establishing a supply chain
that can meet the ever-growing growth of the Microsoft Cloud and our customers. We
support a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-billion, multi-year datacenter
construction and operations of those assets. We are looking to fill a critical role of Demand Planning .

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:Demand Planning and Forecasts
- Defines the plan or forecast and manages it for a service or area, incorporates the business drivers
promotions, sales resources, collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment [CPFR], budget,
engineering changes). Performs exploratory data analyses to identify trends, patterns, correlations,
and insights to aid in developing new forecasting models and improving existing models. Works
closely with Channel Managers, Finance, and/or Business leadership to create and manage demand
forecasts for supply, procurement, and distribution.
Capacity Planning
- Contributes to the development of a capacity order plan that meets customer needs, while
requirements.
Finished Goods Inventory
- Helps team design solutions to adjust to changes in demand after deployment and excessive finished
repurpose such goods for a component or product.
Machine Learning and Analysis
- Learns to collaborate with others to leverage data to identify pockets of opportunity to apply
evaluating Machine Learning models. Assists with the communication of insights under the direction
of senior team members.
Analysis and Insight Generation

- Performs and guides analysis that generates insights that address the identified business questions.

Lifecycle Management
- Contributes to the hardware and software roadmap. Assists with launching through decommission

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications-
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology (IT), Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related field AND 4+ years supply chain, inventory management or sales operations experience, preferably in planning (demand/supply/forecasting), cloud industry experience, infrastructure, data science, and/or channel management experience o OR equivalent experience. - 3 years of experience with Demand planning or material planning
- Experience with Power BI or excel
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology (IT), Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related field AND 4+ years supply chain, inventory management or sales operations experience, preferably in planning (demand/supply/forecasting), cloud industry experience, infrastructure, data science, and/or channel management experience o OR equivalent experience.

Demand Planning IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 – $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 – $195,000 per year.
