PLEASE NOTE: There are currently (10) ten 12-month, full-time positions available.

Under the guidance and oversight of the District Community Schools Coordinator, independently perform and accomplish highly technical administrative and staff duties related to the coordination and participation in collaborative leadership with their assigned community school, administrators, and school teams in the establishment and development of the Community Schools program pillars and structures lead the work of identified staff.

    • Madison High School- 4833 Doliva Dr, San Diego CA, 92117
    • Perkins K-8- 1770 Main St, San Diego, CA 92113
    • Walker Elementary- 9225 Hillery Dr, San Diego, CA 92126

  • Scheduled for 40 hours per week, 12 months per year
  • Qualifies for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employee and dependents

The Community Schools- Site Program Coordinator will be paid on the OTBS Salary Schedule , Salary Grade 054 .

  • Coordinate professional development in partnership with community resource providers recommend best practices and strategies for the development of a model Community School through administrative and highly technical functions relating to the District’s Community Schools efforts.
  • Compile, prepare, or supervise the preparation, compilation, and maintenance of a variety of needs assessments, statistical reports, special studies and observations, manuals, handbooks, and project activities.
  • Represent the District and assigned site at conferences, committees, and meetings act as the liaison to administrators, consultants, school teams, community organizations, other departments, and school sites.
  • Develop, evaluate, implement, revise, interpret, and explain district and Community Schools pillars, objectives, strategies, best practices, policies, and procedures to the staff and the public.
  • Develop, evaluate, coordinate, and lead Community Schools Programs and services.
  • Assist in the development, evaluation, and allocation of the site-specific Community School budget and monitor budget expenditures.
  • Act as Community Schools program manager.
  • Train and lead the work of identified staff.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to: An Associates degree from an accredited institution in communications, social services, education, school counseling or a related field and five years of recent, progressively responsible, related experience working with students and families in the TK-12 educational system or with organizations that serve school communities.

Experience in the establishment of community partnerships to support the development of comprehensive school systems and structures is highly preferred.
