Overview

The Vermont Commission on Women seeks an energetic, skilled, and resourceful person who is dedicated to gender equity and social justice to join our tight-knit, highly collaborative team. The Communications and Outreach Coordinator contributes to our mission of advancing rights and opportunities for women, girls, and gender-expansive people in Vermont through day-to-day communications management and strategic public relations and marketing developing and implementing public education initiatives, materials, and campaigns representing the Commission at public settings and in coalitions and contributing to a variety of projects including events and programs. Work is done under the direction of the Executive Director with a high degree of autonomy, and much of it may be done remotely.

Environmental Factors

Duties are generally performed in a standard office setting. Some travel may be necessary for which private means of transportation may be needed. Strong differences of opinion and persons under stress may be encountered for which tact and diplomacy are necessary. Some work outside of regular work schedule may be necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in communications, outreach, marketing, public relations, social or human services, or other pertinent field AND two (2) years or more of experience in communications, outreach, marketing, and public relations.

OR

Four (4) years or more of experience in communications, outreach, marketing, and public relations.
