The purpose of this position is to assist the Collection Officer in day-to-day administrative duties as well as the early, mid, and late stages of the collection process to include loss mitigation, foreclosures, repossessions, pre-charge-off, charge-off, recovery, bankruptcy and agency liaison collections. The position has a direct and important impact regarding the mitigation and recovery of bank losses.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the overall success of the organization by leveraging opportunities as they relate to all entities of Bravera Holdings Corp.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism regarding all employee and customer issues and information.
  • Open repossession claims and submit/upload any requested loan information or status updates.
  • Research and complete state-specific title paperwork for repossession titles.
  • Review and document the status of accounts and initiate telephone contact with customers and repossession agents.
  • Assist with paperwork for repossession sales, including bill of sale, salvage/damage disclosure, odometer disclosure, statement of fact, etc.
  • Utilize skip tracing tools to locate customers and update account information when needed.
  • Consumer data entry.
  • Impound repossession handling.
  • Prepare correspondence on delinquent accounts requiring special handling, including contacting members by USPS mail, certified, or email.
  • Establish and monitor payment plans.
  • Review and make recommendations for repossessions.
  • Answer incoming customer or vendor communications (i.e., phone, emails, faxes, etc.)
  • Calculation of past due accounts.
  • Assist Collection Officer with any additional duties.
  • Will follow established Bravera Loan Policies and Procedures and provide feedback as to changes needed.
  • Understand applicable banking regulations and stay current with changes.
  • Responsible for promoting the organization in the community through participation in various civic and community events, activities, committees, and organizations.
  • Adhere to all banking rules and regulations, including but not limited to the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act. In addition, the employee will be proactive in the prevention of illegal activities, will vigilantly look for activities that may constitute any type of fraud including money laundering, and will report any suspicious activity to the BSA Officer.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma required 1-2 years of secondary education preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of mortgage servicing or collections experience OR a combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of FHA, VA and conventional loans from early through late-stage delinquency including foreclosure and bankruptcy preferred.
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae servicing guide preferred.
  • Knowledge of Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) process preferred.

Pay: $19.49 – $23.48 per hour
